Celebrating 50 Years of Academic Excellence
Since 1965 Colorado Technical University has been proud to educate career focused students to advance their education and help achieve their goals. CTU's commitment to provide innovative, real-world learning to students within Colorado, the military, across the U.S. and overseas has never wavered.
Commitment to the Military
It all started with two military men who wanted to help U.S. Veterans transition back to civilian life more easily through education. Richard Davis was a Colonel and a pilot. Robert Turkisher was a Major and a navigator. He was also our founder and first president…the first to set us on our course. Over the years, CTU has earned top Military honors and awarded over $7.3 million in scholarships to Wounded Warriors and their families. Serving those who have risked their lives for our country is embedded in our past, present and future.
Commitment to Colorado
From an old roller rink in Colorado where our founders opened a technical school, to the growth of other campuses throughout the state, our roots are buried deep in the Colorado soil. Our mascot, a golden eagle was inspired by Indian folklore about a brave becoming a man. The folklore described how the chief took the brave to the top of a mountain where he morphed into the golden eagle, flew over the land below, gained knowledge and wisdom and returned to lead the tribe. The importance of gaining wisdom to lead has fueled CTU's quest to teach real-world, industry-current curricula throughout the years.
